Program Overview

  • The six (6)-course behavioral competency program is aimed at functional degrees (from the second to the fifth), and helps government employees enhance their skills and performance at both the personal and institutional level.

  • Grow in your role and maximize your potential for taking on new responsibilities to support future government needs and functions.

Program General Info

Emirati employees from grades 3 to 5, from Abu Dhabi government entities.

A three (3)-month learning journey, during which participants will be:

  • Attending six (6) modules – each module lasts (1) day

  • Attending virtual coaching sessions with a specialized coach

  • Self-nomination

  • Line manager’s nomination

  • HR department’s nomination

Program Outline

Grades 3

  • Identify the five levels of emotional intelligence with reference to the Daniel Goleman model.

  • Recognize the impact emotions have on relationships in the workplace.

  • Identify developmental areas as a result of different feedback styles.

  • Apply the use of Abu Dhabi School of Government Individual Development Plan for ongoing career development opportunities.

Grades 4 & 5

  • Recognize how seeking feedback can enable better identification of developmental areas.

  • Interpret own emotions, actions and style and how this impacts the role of the individual and colleagues.

  • Identify how to plan and develop own skills and knowledge with various resources.

  • Recognize how the qualities of adaptability and flexibility better enable the individual to work on assignments and meet challenges.

Grades 3

  • Implement the principles of building long-term sustainable relationships and recognize their importance.

  • Recognize how to apply conflict management concepts.

  • Identify effective principles for team engagement.

Grades 4 & 5

  • Identify and maintain sustainable relationships with colleagues.

  • Recognize how to achieve goals through team collaboration.

  • Apply empowerment skills to enable a variety of opinions and perspectives within a team.

  • Practice trust building steps with others.

Grades 3

  • Apply steps to create presentations and present with confidence.

  • Apply steps of presenting and delivering information in a convincing and inspiring way.

  • Identify the strengths of colleagues and assign tasks accordingly.

  • IApply effective coaching and training techniques to enable knowledge transfer and apply strong motivational practices to encourage higher levels of performance.

Grades 4 & 5

  • Use different communication methods according to different situations.

  • Use different communication channels and content based on others' needs.

  • Determine useful information for co-workers and provide them with enough time to complete the required tasks.

  • Practice NLP principles to persuade others.

Grades 3

  • Define effective processes to simplify and improve workflow.

  • Identify and categorize risks.

  • Use methods to better plan and organize work activities and mitigate risks.

  • Apply steps to forecast risks and develop alternative plans to overcome and categorize them in the risk register.

Grades 4 & 5

  • Define effective processes to simplify and improve workflow.

  • Use methods to better plan and organize work activities and mitigate risks.

  • Identify and categorize risks in government entities.

  • Apply steps to forecast risks and develop alternative plans to overcome and categorize them in the risk register.

Grades 3

  • Diagnose the team’s areas of performance development so that new goals can be set to improve performance levels.

  • Determine high performance goals and targets (ambition).

  • Design the tools needed to monitor quality results of individual and team performance.

  • Establish high performance and quality standards for projects and work activities for your job and staff assignments.

Grades 4 & 5

  • Learn about accountability methods and tools to improve performance level gaps.

  • Define ways to monitor and track performance, results and quality of outputs.

  • Take advantage of the tools available to set performance goals and targets.

  • Learn how to achieve high-performance levels that exceed expectations.

Grades 3

  • Apply Abu Dhabi government’s customer happiness standards.

  • Determine customer characteristics and what makes them happy.

  • Implement activities that promote a culture of excellence in customer service/happiness.

  • Use modern data and applications to make decisions to improve service delivery.

Grades 4 & 5

  • Identify the importance of knowing the views of internal and external operators to ascertain their needs.

  • Identify ways and means of addressing and resolving internal and external client problems.

  • Develop strategies to meet the expectations of today’s customer and what comprises modern customer service.

  • Implement different strategies to build sustainable relationships with internal and external customers.

Certificate of completion

Learners obtain a Certificate of Completion recognizing their general behavioral competencies with the Abu Dhabi School of Government (levels: excellent - very good - good).

Program Facilitators

Dr. Nezar Al Qahtani

PhD in educational psychology, holds a master’s degree in business administration specializing in executive leadership, and a bachelor’s degree in Islamic studies. He worked in the training sector in the Abu Dhabi government from 2001-2019, and he is currently working as a lecturer and cooperating advisor with many government entities and private companies

Dr. Khalifa Al Hosani

A PhD in Administration and Economics, and trainer for the Government Action Charter Program.

Nadia Al Muhairi

Certified trainer and executive mentor specializing in the science of positivity, emotional intelligence and human resources, along with the ability to provide training workshops in an interactive manner and a variety of styles.

Banan Hadidi

More than 10 years of experience in leadership training and counseling, as well as more than 6,000 hours in leadership counseling, emotional intelligence and effective communication.

Majid Khalaf

Certified trainer and management consultant with a master's degree, professional experience in several areas, including at Cleveland Clinic as a learning consultant.

Dr. Abdul Hamid Al Hosani

PhD in chemistry, management consultant and trainer in leadership, emotional intelligence; an innovation lecturer at the Police College and Ajman University.
