The Director Generals of the Abu Dhabi government.

A six (6)-month learning journey, during which participants will:

  • Attend all three (3) modules – each module is a three (3)-day classroom training

  • Complete the three (3)-day discovery expedition in Switzerland

The Director Generals receive invitations to register for and attend the program.

Sessions are based on experiential learning and will include customized simulations that allow participants to observe the effects and impact of their decisions.

Scenario planning business simulation

An experiential learning tool where leaders learn by 'playing out' how stakeholders and companies are likely to behave through scenario planning.

Case studies

Participants actively engage in analyzing and identifying the principles by abstracting from the relevant case studies in the program.

Discovery expedition

Immersive activities designed to encourage the emergence of new ideas and creative solutions for best practices in government. Participants engage in 'out-of-the-usual context' with real experts in the field, explore best practices first-hand with counterparts, and identify implications for the future.

Constructive and performance-focused one-on-one coaching sessions that enable behavioral transformation.


Certificate of completion

Omar Toulan is Professor of Strategy and International Management at IMD. Professor Toulan’s areas of expertise include strategic management, international business, growth strategies, and managing the multinational. Among his areas of research are offshoring and outsourcing, global account management, emerging market multinationals, and the impact of the digital disruption on the retail sector.

His research has appeared in a variety of academic and practitioner oriented journals including Strategic Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies, California Management Review, Industrial and Corporate Change, Emerging Markets Review, and Journal of Latin American Studies.

Amit Joshi joined IMD as Professor of Digital Marketing and Strategy. He brings IMD extensive expertise in marketing management and strategy, advertising, digital media, data analytics and marketing accountability. He is Program Director of the open program Digital Analytics. His research has twice won the MSI / H.Paul Root Award, for the best paper in the Journal of Marketing (2010 and 2015), in addition to the Robert D.

Professor Piskorski is an expert on digital strategy, platform strategy, and the process of digital business transformation. He works with companies in various industries across the globe supporting them through digital transformation. He specializes in transformations that span the entire organization, starting with strategic advisory services to the CEO, strategic transformation projects and business development with the top management team, executive education with middle managers, and online education with the rest of the organization.

At IMD, Professor Piskorski is the Director of the Digital Strategy program, and a codirector of Leading Digital Transformation and Digital Execution programs. Mark Greeven is Professor of Innovation and Strategy at IMD. Drawing on a decade of experience in research, teaching and consulting in China, Mark explores how to organize innovation in a turbulent world. He has been collaborating with innovative Chinese companies and entrepreneurial multinationals to explore novel ways of organizing, accelerating corporate innovation, designing business ecosystems to thrive on uncertainty. He is a fluent Chinese speaker.

Mark is a research associate at China’s National Institute for Innovation Management, Center for China and Globalization, Center for Global R&D and Innovation, and the US-China Innovation Research Center at Duke Kunshan University.
